Chapter Verse - So Right

In the Bible there are 1,189 chapters in the Old and New Testaments. In a little over three years, a person could make an intensive study of the whole Bible, taking a chapter a day. It is usually a good practice to start your Bible study in the New Testament.

A paragraph is several sentences of thought in writing. When an author changes the subject of emphasis in writing, he usually begins a new paragraph. The beginning of a paragraph in this Bible is indicated by a boldface verse number. Studying the Bible by paragraphs like this is often called analytic Bible study.

What are the main divisions of the book Is there any outline apparent in the logical organization and development of the book During this reading, divide the text into the paragraphs as you see them and then give a title to each paragraph. Draw a line down the right side of the outline and on the other side write any problems, questions, words, or ideas that require further study by comparison with other passages in the Bible.

Sahih International: Men are in charge of women by [right of] what Allah has given one over the other and what they spend [for maintenance] from their wealth. So righteous women are devoutly obedient, guarding in [the husband's] absence what Allah would have them guard. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Those who demand New Testament evidence for the prohibition of intermarriage with unbelievers will find these texts. Simultaneously, they will not find a single verse even suggesting that the Old Testament prohibition of such intermarriage is lifted for the New Testament believer.

The words of the holy fathers witness to the presence of this living tradition, whose wealth is poured into the practice and life of the believing and praying Church. Through the same tradition the Church's full canon of the sacred books is known, and the sacred writings themselves are more profoundly understood and unceasingly made active in her; and thus God, who spoke of old, uninterruptedly converses with the bride of His beloved Son; and the Holy Spirit, through whom the living voice of the Gospel resounds in the Church, and through her, in the world, leads unto all truth those who believe and makes the word of Christ dwell abundantly in them (see Col. 3:16).

Therefore, since everything asserted by the inspired authors or sacred writers must be held to be asserted by the Holy Spirit, it follows that the books of Scripture must be acknowledged as teaching solidly, faithfully and without error that truth which God wanted put into sacred writings (5) for the sake of salvation. Therefore \"all Scripture is divinely inspired and has its use for teaching the truth and refuting error, for reformation of manners and discipline in right living, so that the man who belongs to God may be efficient and equipped for good work of every kind\" (2 Tim. 3:16-17, Greek text).

18. It is common knowledge that among all the Scriptures, even those of the New Testament, the Gospels have a special preeminence, and rightly so, for they are the principal witness for the life and teaching of the incarnate Word, our savior.

It devolves on sacred bishops \"who have the apostolic teaching\"(7) to give the faithful entrusted to them suitable instruction in the right use of the divine books, especially the New Testament and above all the Gospels. This can be done through translations of the sacred texts, which are to be provided with the necessary and really adequate explanations so that the children of the Church may safely and profitably become conversant with the Sacred Scriptures and be penetrated with their spirit.

In the sections prior to this, the word of the Lord was to Tyre itself (Ezekiel 27:2) and to the ruler of Tyre (Ezekiel 28:2). Beginning in Ezekiel 28:11, alament (expression of grief or mourning for past events) is expressed to the kingof Tyre; or more specifically, to the one influencing the king of Tyre. Note wellthat the king of Tyre was never a model of perfection (verse 12), nor was he onthe mount of God (verse 14), nor was he in the Garden of Eden (verse 13; notethat the Flood has destroyed the Garden of Eden several hundred years prior tothis time period).

As with the other questions in this chapter, great theologians have struggledover how to effectively answer this. Paul, in his book to the Christiansin Rome, offers some insight into the overarching perspective that we shouldhave:

We trust those reading this book will realize that the only way of salvationis found through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. God has provideda way of salvation, a right relationship with Him, and a means of forgiveness;have you received Christ as your Savior

In Job 32, Elihu enters the scene. His anger was kindled, it says, because Job put himself above God. He was angry with the three counselors because all they did was criticize Job without getting to the cause of the problem (verses 2-3). They condemned Job without really answering his self-justification. All four of them were condemning God by their attitudes and actions!

Job thought he was doing everything right. But by maintaining his innocence even as God was correcting him, Job showed that he thought he was greater than God. So God inspired Elihu to give Job proper perspective (Job 33:8-12).

The first chapter of Isaiah is a little like a preamble. In a single short chapter, Isaiah paints the problem that God has with Israel. A glance through this first chapter sets the stage for 50-some chapters that follow.

OK, this is better. Isaiah is back on track with the theme of right worship. Only God is God. Only God must be worshiped and Israel is no longer faithful to her God. She is worshiping other gods and this is clearly wrong. 59ce067264
